Sunday, May 27, 2012 - And Decanted 3 hrs. Purchased at PC for $24.95. Aromatically this had a lot of kick to it, multidimensional scents of dark, roasted plums and fig preserves, traces of black pepper on the edges, and while lacking the traditional scent of Garrigue, it still had quite a pop of fresh herbs and underbrush. The most immediate and obvious descriptor of the palate was of a clean, pure driven Grenache dominated cuvee, medium weight, but never veering off course of its satisfying destination. Staying within the red fruit spectrum, added touches asphalt and a moderate tannic backbone lent this to early drinking enjoyment. Off vintage, under-priced Pegau, yes please, back up the truck!
