Friday, October 5, 2012 - Very nice and truly very Pégaü, this 2008 shows the better sides of this producer in such a difficult year. There is plenty of the rustic barnyard in the nose but not too much and tonight it actually helps bring the fruit forward. The fruit, as in many wines from this vintage, is more restrained and less flirtatous. The palate is medium-bodied, integrated and shows few, if any hard edges. Compared to the 2003 Cuvée Réservée tasted a few weeks ago, this bottle shows few, if any, signs of oak. A great wine to drink now or in the coming 5-8 years.
