12/5/2012 10:53:00 PM - What's with the Brett, thing going around? Did I miss something big. I mean a micro amount is usually in many CdP giving the bacon fat or meaty nose, which is very slight, but standard in many Southern Rhone Grenache blends. I've never had the Brett issue in Pegau. I am thinking that the 2008 vintage is going to turn out to be a very decent vintage for the likes of Beaucastel and Pegau. Really low in price and of good fruit quality and blending, rather than an over-cooked fruit mash that you see in many of the middle tier '07 and '09 vintages.
12/7/2012 6:53:00 PM - CIH, DJC, Pegau has a reputation for some bretty bottles and even the American importer for this wine has commented about that on wine bulletin boards. That said, I've not encountered anything untoward in the few bottles that I've tasted. And this was an *Excellent* bottle!
