Monday, July 4, 2011 - Another outing of this vintage proved to have different results. Dark fruits, smoke, cocoa, that was a bit tight and very focused, with complexity and length. Subtle, and was a group favorite over an 08 Burgundy. The Burgundy at the same tax bracket had more upfront fruit and pepper, but Drouhin had the the attention and staying power. We had a few bottles over he past few months from the same case, with a fair amount of bottle variation. This one was worth writing home about. The 2008 is refined and needs at least a couple of years to develop. Very Nice.
