90 Points

Sunday, June 3, 2012 - Decanted for close to two hours before tasting. Well, well – this has evolved tremendously since I last had it in February 2011 (granted the decant may have played its part). Whereas my last bottle was pretty thin and austere, this one displayed all the hallmarks of a good quality new world Pinot. Sweet cherries, cola, toffee, vanilla, earth and gentle oak spice on the nose and palate. Smooth texture, good concentration and length. Although I would have liked to see a little less candy and a little more grip, this was still a fine example of the richer, more accessible style often associated with the US and NZ. Thoroughly enjoyable, and at roughly the same price as your average Bourgogne Rouge, I will definitely buy more if I find some.
