90 Points

Monday, July 2, 2012 - Let me confess upfront that I am a devotee of '96 and earlier Napa Cabs, "Old School" if you will, but this bottle is far better than it has any right to be at this stage of its life. The appearance veers towards the tawny and the aromatics are a bit strained: cloves, herbs, a hint of vanilla. On the tongue, though, it is rock solid, with good acidity, structure and a killer finish dominated by dried cherries. A bit one-dimensional to be sure, but all in all a strong performance.
