Saturday, July 9, 2011 - It's been quite awhile since I've had one of these Pride Syrahs...this '04 is rockin! Dark as night....typical Pride oozness of dark berry fruit, which has a nice silky cream to it....wonderful complexities of white pepper, coffee, anise, chocolate covered blueberries, cold smoked bacon, Kirsch liqueur, graphite dust. Little alc heat...but this is that "cool smoked blueberry" style wine, ala Lillian, that tames the heat. Has a nice integration of wood as well, giving it a nice cream with dusty tannins. Plenty of structure and fruit here for long term aging. Super tasty....totally Pride Mtn!
