90 Points

Sunday, February 24, 2013 - Light ruby red. I found this to be much better than other tasting notes would indicate, perhaps because age has subdued the fruit and alcohol. Very appealing red cherry nose and spices. Sweet tannins, leather moderately heavy minerality and a stong acid backbone help bring this big Chianti into balance and was a superb match with a rich dish of meatballs. (Definitely a food only wine). Drinking fine now, but it will get better with some more age. 15% abv, but not a hot wine.
