2008 DeLille Cellars Doyenne Aix

Community Tasting Note

89 Points

Wednesday, February 27, 2013 - Based on the price I paid for this wine, it was great QPR given comparison to other similar winery offerings in Washington state. The alcohol is a bit high: 14.8%. This is a winery-described Provence-style red blend. Grapes are sourced from the renowned Grand Ciel vineyard in the Red Mountain AVA of Yakima Valley. Wines made from this AVA can be great depending on the winemakers' ability and grapes. This particular DeLille vintage has a very fruit-forward/acid balance which many may like. Think RP recommendations. Needs fatty steak to balance the partial sweetness. Well-made wine nonetheless for those that like a certain type of Robert Parker style and critiqued wine. Like I said before, the price I paid for this wine justifies the score.
