Wednesday, July 31, 2013 - The wine was decanted for more than 4 hours. Tasted blind alongside Vega Sicília Único 2003, Vina Almaviva's EPU 2006 and one Amarone I don't recall. The Tignanello along with the Vega stood out immediately from the glass. Could easily be mistaken for a 1st Growth with the same Strong berry, leather and earthy notes. As time passed by and dinner came to an end, the Italian beat the Spanish to death. Great wine and perhaps the best Tignanello I have tasted.
