Sunday, February 4, 2007 - This was a tough one to rate. I think if you gave it to someone who doesn't drink much they wouldn't think twice about it, but there's a lot going on here. It's put together extremely well. Big in the front yet a certain overall subtlety. Reminded me of a Languedoc Roussillon (not surprisingly). Mineral aromas of clay with hints of licorice and caramel, and notes of meat and tobacco that I always seem to find in grape types of SW France. Finished the slightest bit hot. Will benefit from some additional cellaring.
