Thursday, March 12, 2015 - Nose reminded me of a bordeaux when first opened - dark fruits, spice and a bit of funk. It transformed into cherry, tar, spice and brown sugar after a bit of airtime. Not sure this is possible, but the nose actually struck me as also being "creamy". Big, rich, ripe, juicy, red cherry/cranberry with some mineral and earthy, brambly notes. Acidic character remains in place, and it still has plenty of grip. Not quite as much complexity as some prior bottles, but also seems a bit bigger, smoother and had edges that were more rounded. Very tasty. 91-92
