Sunday, May 15, 2011 - Quite nice, but hard to reconcile with GV's notes and those of some others. Decanted about 90 minutes then drank over 2 hours. Seemed pretty classically Southern Italian to me, not terribly new-world, with that bracing Italian aciditym, medium body, not to me a huge wine or very viscous. Bright and dusty plum and pomegranate. Not super tannic. Very food friendly (hardly a surprise for an Italian wine) - absolutely perfect with pasta with Sardinian meat sauce: http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/cavatelli-with-sardinian-meat-sauce Fair value but I don't get the raves.
