91 Points

Wednesday, September 7, 2011 - Cork soaked through almost to the very end. Initial concerns over oxidation. Popped and got a big hit of funk, tasty if unimpressive on the palate. With air and on the second day it started to come alive. Nose: Grapey, Welch's grape juice, touch of leather, rich aromas of dark fruit. On the palate, it's big, juicy, grapey and dark fruit again. Big concentration on fruit flavors, but great leathery ripe tannin and surprisingly good acid. Great concentration on mid, resolved to a lengthy finish of delicious ripe tannin. Delicious city with surprisingly good tannic and acidic structure. 91/92
