Saturday, November 8, 2014 - Decanted for sediment. The nose evolved over the course of being open for about 30 mins with the last few sips being the best. Nose showed a bit of smoke and meat mixed with iron/mineral notes, dried red fruits and some menthol cough drop. On the palate the wine showed dried plum and black cherry, slightly raisiny fruit, some sweet spice and a bit of oak on the back end. Good acidity but tannins are mostly faded and sweet. Nice finish. A really different and well made wine.
