The aroma on this has lots of ripe red berries, black cherries, some buttery vanilla oak scents which I really didn't expect, blueberry compote and some leather. The palate has good structure with more tannins than acidity, and is rather full bodied for the style with ripe berry fruit. The finish falls slightly short at this point. This is very good, albeit not at all what I expected after tasting the previous vintage. This could almost pass for a Cali Pinot.
