92 Points

Sunday, June 15, 2008 - My first experience with this benchmark Aussie white. First thing that jumps out is the vibrant golden color. Deep and dark, almost like aged Sauternes. Nearly as striking as the nose, which is presents beautiful cream but with loads of peach and tropical fruit. The latter dominates the palate, but its seasoned with --but not overwhelmed by-- beautiful wood spice. Finishes long. Powerful stuff. I don't generally love the oaky/malo school of Chardonnay, but this is a profound example of that style. Beautiful chardonnay that merits the $50 tariff as well as its stellar reputation. 92-93.
