Sunday, September 27, 2015 - From a less-than-stellar vintage for Calon-Ségur, this well-cellared bottle was was respectable. Medium garnet/amber in color, it retains some plum and cherry fruit, flanked by earthy and dried herb aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, tart, seamlessly alcoholic and with melted tannins, it stays solid in the middle and closes with medium length. Clearly past its prime, this left-bank Bordeaux is still drinkable, but those holding bottles should definitely pop the corks. Drink now.
