Sunday, September 7, 2014 - Opened y/day, reitasting today with proper temp and stem. Very solid. Has a plump quality to it, with supporting fruit of cherry and pomegranate and pine. There is a tart note that traces with the fruit but this wine is not lean or thin, but it does have acid, a good amount of it, along with a stable/leather note that is just faint enough to add some cool nuance. Feels like old world burg with the tart, earthy notes and new world SMV with the plump, fruit flush side to it. Drinks fine to me now but has plenty of guts and frame to keep ion trucking for another 5 years I am sure.
