Wednesday, August 3, 2011 - From 375ml, cork. Popped and poured and consumed over 2hrs. A delightful shiraz, given its restrained style. Mocha and spice on the nose with a touch of white pepper and back currants. Palate has layer of dark concentrated fruit, but a light acidity and plenty of grip on the back end. Dark fruit profile--currants and plum and blackberry. Lengthy fruit filled finish with mocha, tar, and oak spice. Very well put together, maybe I shouldn't avoid all Aussie shiraz? Has a little of the pepper of cool climate Cali syrah but the smooth velvety mouthfeel of Aussie shiraz, though something about the fruit flavor profile definitely says Australia to me. Should improve with 5+yrs.
