Sunday, January 26, 2014 - After wondering how the heck this bottle ended up in my cellar, I pulled it and gave it a whirl. Knowing nothing about this wine, I did a quick search and found a review by Tanzer that I thought hit the nail on the head:

Good bright red-ruby. Dark cherry, animal fur, smoke and minerals on the rather sauvage nose. Supple in the middle, then quite tight on the back half and much less pliant than the Echanges. In fact, this is almost hard-edged on the back, but the finishing flavors of violet, iron and fresh blood scream out Gevrey.

Totally agree with Tanzer's take on the finish. A bit tight and bitter. That being said, I really liked the nose - stinky wet sheep that typifies what I love about Burgundys.
