Wednesday, December 3, 2014 - Dinner at Park Palace with the IT guys (Park Palace): Wow. Definitely a bottle with very good provenance. Deep ruby-red, with just slight bricking at the edge. Very good nose, with secondary aromas intermixing with smoke, cedar, tobacco. The palate showed much younger than its 53-yrs age. Still a lot of (black) fruit intact, great mouthfill - nice freshness, smooth tannins and long. This had more weight than the '61 GPL that I tasted recently but I felt that the GPL still triumphed because of its complexity. A great drink nonetheless. John, thanks!
