This wine is not yet giving all it has got. The nose is quite reticent, offering only a glimpse of dark fruits and minerals. In the palate it comes across softer and less full bodied than the awesome 1982 Gruaud Larose that we are drinking beside it. The tannin is not yet resolved. This is an old style Bordeaux on the elegant side that is in sharp contrast to the newer, riper, loaded Ducrus of the Bruno Borie era (which are spectacular). I frankly cannot see the ripeness and flamboyance that Parker saw in this wine early on. The wine improved all night long, which bodes well for its future.

Este vino no está dando todo lo que tiene. La nariz es bastante reticente, ofreciendo solo un vistazo de frutas negras y minerales. En boca, no tiene la concentración, corpulencia y densidad del Gruaud Larose 1982 que tomamos a su lado. Los taninos requieren más tiempo para integrarse. Este es un Burdeos de la vieja guardia que contrasta con el estilo más maduro, expresivo y concentrado que bruno Borie ha impreso a partir de la década de los 2000. Francamente no encuentro la abundancia de fruta y golosidad que Parker encontró en este vino cuando recién salió al mercado. El vino mejoró toda la noche, lo que augura un buen futuro.
