Friday, September 24, 2010 - Had this on the terrace. Pulled and opened straight from the cellar. Poured into glass for 45 minutes before drinking. Wonderful deep ruby, looks bright and polished. Immediate nose of tea, leather and forest/autumn leaves/undergrowth (but in a good way). Also a nice core of cherry/blueberry fruit thereafter. Tastes of what it smells together with a love ripe balanced mouthfeel and refreshing acidity. Not heavy at all, extremely elegant and classic Bordeaux. I have never been a huge fan of Ducru (some of the vintages in the 80s and 70s were quite thin and rough) but am willing to be pursuaded if the more modern wines are like this.
