88 Points

Sunday, January 11, 2015 - The colour was nicely garnet red, and swirling suggested an unctuous texture. The nose had hints of pure lime-juice and not much else. Was this backward? Tasting suggested the same, and there was lime juice on the palate too, with coconut and sour tangerines. There was tannin galore still, and a chicory undertone that suggested quite a long time to go; that tannin whammed its way through the finish, which lasted probably about 35 seconds. Overall this was good, a sort of savoury wine perhaps, but it needs another 3 years+ after which the score should go up.
