Wednesday, May 7, 2008 - This was my favorite wine at the 04 UGC tasting, and not inclined to change my view. Black fruit cassisy with vanilla new wood notes, but all in a closed package with plenty of acid/tannin present. Really impressive extract and refinement/purity. Needs five plus more years, and perhaps more.
My thought is that this is a Leoville Poyferre that will show much better than expected in a vertical down the road.
