Sunday, May 19, 2013 - Visit at Château Pavie Macquin (Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux): Nose with ripe red berries, some hints of dried berries, mild spice, some graphite, some oak. Palate with ripe red berries, good concentration of fruit, some sweetness of fruit, hints of alcohol, medium+ tannins, spice, tannic aftertaste. Rather young, definitely tannic at present, 89+ p.
More concentrated at present than the 2009 Berliquet but a bit more red berry notes, shows more tannin and produced in a style more adapted to (or even demanding of) cellaring.
