Friday, May 1, 2015 - Deep golden color; intense nose with honey, candied citrus/orange, apricot, ice-wine-like in its purity of fruit and concentration on the nose, some figs; palate has some sweetness but balanced and not dessert level of sweetness, clean throughout, minerality in the midpalate, white fruit but not as intense as on the nose, candied orange, slight ginger; finish is medium length, not as persistent as a great dessert wine. Overall this is youthful, impressive on the nose and good but not superb on the palate, sweet but balanced and would go well with a regular meal (not just dessert), and overall shows great depth and complexity. Nice wine, and I'm curious what it might be like in 10 years. 93
50 minutes air: Even more complexity than before. Definitely more of an off-dry than sweet wine, great balance, and lots of subtle complexity. An elegant, seductive wine. 93-95.
Day 5: Similar to above, but lots of green apple on the palate. Excellent!
