Saturday, August 1, 2015 - Beautiful. 45 minute decant to burn off some of the alcoholic heat, consumed over an hour. This is light and pretty on the approach, with a nice but rather uncomplicated nose of red berry. Lots of red berry on the palate, with some nice spiciness, including a touch of cinnamon. The long, complex finish is what keeps you coming back for more. By the last sip a lovely, strawberry sweetness had emerged--not over the top but definitely more pronounced than at first taste. This is an elegant, complex and lingering wine.
