Sunday, June 14, 2015 - At 14.1% ABV, this monster wine pours a pale straw color with slight cloudiness and thick, unctuous legs. On the nose, the wine is very floral with an overarching scent of oak and honey, which is supported by a bouquet of citrus, tropical fruits, vanilla, lychee and vanilla. This is a very delicate and exquisite nose. On the palate, the wine has a medium structure accentuated by a mineral core and low acidity. The heat of the alcohol brings out flavors of honeysuckle, more tropical fruits, peaches and oak. Finish is superbly long. As the wine develops in the glass, I pick up more flavors of orange marmalade, orange blossoms and lemon oil. This viognier/roussanne blend is insanely beautiful. And once again, Kongsgaard never lets down.
