Tuesday, January 6, 2009 - This review was done on the second day of the bottle being open, as the wine was simply too young, dense and impenetrably tannic to really show itself in a pop and pour setting. Masculine nose of black currant sauce, cedar, vanilla, liquorish and chalk. Full bodied but presice, and just oozes currant, cherry, blackberry and a subtle herbaceous earthiness. Absolutely delicious, and still just a baby at this point. A bit Californian, but in a good way. Reminds me al lot of wines like Dominus Estate (particularly the '03) that are more like Paulliacs made in Napa. Can't wait to taste this in 10 years.
