90 Points

Saturday, December 31, 2011 - Ordered at restaurant The Steakhouse in Lachen. The waiter decanted the wine for 1.5 hours before we had the first glass. The wine was dark purple in colour and offered crème de cassis, pencil shaving, autumn leaves, cigar ash and eucalyptus on the nose. On the palate the wine showed black currant, red currant, graphite, eucalyptus, and hints of chocolate and tobacco, with fine dry tannins and very good acidity. The wine had good length and a nice purity of fruit, but overall was less pure and focused today than the last bottles I had. 90+
