Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - Acquired upon release and perfectly cellared; Beautiful color, first scent out of the glass is classic cassis; then the aromas of dark berries emerge - blackberries, boysenberries and dark cherries; delicious full fruit, mouthwatering wine; mouthfeel is smooth, although there is still a sense of light tannins resolving themselves; after a while, lighter fruits add to the mix - primarily raspberries. Longer term (40 minutes) florals and perfume comes along, but there are still strong berries in the nose. Excellent wine. Suggest trying this again in 2016.
