95 Points

Thursday, March 7, 2013 - Good nose. Notes of wet earth, dark cherry, violet, spicy stems, and cassis. Smooth and sweet on entry with very little hard edges. The wine sort of glides through the palate. Label indicated 13.5% alcohol with ever so slight warmth at finish. Surprisingly fresh acidity level for 09' Burgundy. Good concentration and harmony, fabulous wine. I can easily guzzle down a bottle. For the quality and price, this is a good bargain. Clean and floral nose on 2nd day. More red fruits and maintains great composure, this will age well. Yum! This is Grand Cru stuff. Pommard are producing beautiful wines at the moment, had a good 2010 Henri Boillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens recently too. 93-95 pts.
