2008 d'Arenberg Shiraz The Dead Arm

Friday, July 11, 2014 - ¤FW - At first a somewhat muted nose. With some time out comes lots and lots of fruit, dried fruit, baked fruit. Very much like a young vintage port. There's also some liquorice and a hint of dark chocolate and tobacco. I find the nose to be somewhat sticky and not really in my taste.
Full bodied, a few soft tannins. Very well balanced, and a fresh acidity lifts it in the mouth.

Had bigger hopes for this, but never the less a tasty wine.
