2006 Bodegas Muga Rioja Torre Muga

Saturday, July 23, 2016 - Deep ruby turning violet at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose is gorgeous with lots of ripe red and dark fruit accompanied by sandalwood, scorched earth, vanilla and dried herbs. The palate displays ripe, full-bodied, polished, velvety texture - an attractive modern-style Rioja that bridges ripeness with Old World charm. Flavors of dark cherry, raspberry, dark chocolate, red licorice, and Rioja earthiness brings this to near classic levels. Finishes long and juicy with dusty tannin. Drink now until 2026. 94

7/27/2016 5:42:00 PM - Thanks for your note and rating. Wow, we are encouraged by your note as our last sip saw us scoring only 88 for this Muga. We are fans of Muga from A to Z. We still have several bottles in the cellar so we will put this baby on the to sip list!
