2001 Château Haut-Bergey

Community Tasting Note

Sunday, April 29, 2012 - Pop and pour. Consumed at dinner party, so not a detailed closely analyzed note. Served with host's homemade pasta and meatballs (which was really tasty. Thanks Chris). Would not have pegged this as a 2001 as everything was quite full, sweet and voluptuous in a positive way. The nose was full but expressive showing ripe clean fruit with nice minerality in the background. This carried over to the palate as well. Nice fullness upfront accompanied by balancing tannins and acidity on the mid palate. A little bit of depth and complexity. Clean finish with decent length. Nice bottle and paired well with the dinner.
