93 Points

Sunday, March 20, 2016 - Decanted 3 hrs. This 8 year old Betz cab drinks very young and spry, full of smoky sweet cassis fruit and sage leaves. While the tannin structure is very smooth and seamless, the overall impression is of both power and grace. The sheer density of the wine clearly demonstrates this is unapologetically of WA State vs. that of say a Bordeaux, and I mean that as a complement. Certainly drinking well, but I suspect this still has a lot of upswing. Very conservative on the 93 score as I'm even better days are ahead.
