Nose of oak, plum, leather, cassis, black pepper and black cherry; a bit alcoholic in the beginning. Velvety smooth palate with sweet oak tannins, full fruit (without being jammy), blackberry and tar. Finish is mainly forward palate and tannic but not without an enjoyable fruitiness. Nicely done...did well with venison backstrap but could hold up to a NY Strip.
