Wednesday, January 7, 2009 - Dark cherry with youthful bright purple rim.
First day I was a little unimpressed by the wine. It was lacking complexity and the oak was too overwhelming. Nevertheless you could still feel the fruit and enough acidity to balance it. On the second night, this was a different wine. Nose was more complex with graphite, earthy, dark fruits notes with oak now blending instead of shadowing. Med to full bdoy, firm tannins, fresh acidity, the structure is impressive. Dense and focused, very good fruit, char and graphite, this was really nice.
But overall it requires serious time in the cellar. I wouldn't touch another bottle before 7-8 yearsto let the oak becomes more integrated.
