Sunday, April 13, 2014 - Popped and poured, then re-tasted over the course of 3 hours. Nice bouquet of strawberry and red cherry, anise, baking spice, and oak. On the palate it's still a baby, with a short, compact attack to start things off. Good acidity and good tannins really show themselves and haven't fully integrated. The mid-palate is gorgeous, with ripe red fruit, forest floor, and subtle pine notes. The finish is quite compact and quick, but has a very nice light tapering effect. I think this will be better in 5 years or more.
