Sunday, November 5, 2006 - Opened for 1st Anniversary Dinner at The Basin in Saratoga. Surprisingly lively for a 98 Cali Pinot -- and in better shape than the bottle we consumed last year. Reddish fruits cloaked in a bit of vanilla, which signifies (to me) that this wine saw some serious new oak. It wasn't too obtrusive, but noticable. Medium-bodied, elegant and silky on the palate. If you have 'em, it's time to drink them up.
