Saturday, March 28, 2015 - Aired for three hours. Ruby red color with a hint of orange edge. Very closed and tight. Some aromas of spice, cherries, dark red berries, earth, tar, wood and forest comes through after some time, but it is not even near the delicious fruit and berry aromas that we had with the 2004 Barbaresco Riserva. The tannins are still quite noticeable. The fruit is in the background whilst forest floor and earth is more dominant. I am not sure whether it's an odd bottle or just needs more time to bring out the fruit. It is definately not there yet.
