1981 Château Léoville Poyferré

Community Tasting Note

88 Points

Friday, March 29, 1996 - Dark red. At first a beautiful bouquet with cassis and luxurious oak. A few hours later this beautiful bouquet has faded. On the palate cassis as well as red berry fruits, firm acidity and a little bitterness in the finish. Overall the wine is ok, but a little disappointing because it has a little bit too much acidity and the finish is quite short. Nevertheless a really pleasurable wine and at its peak now.
