Wednesday, December 24, 2014 - Dark ruby in color with slight bricking at the edges, this wine showed very ripe cherry, raspberry jam, Christmas spices and smoke on the nose. The mouth feel was softer than expected with more jammy and spicy notes. The finish was long but soft with beautiful integration of fruit, acidity and secondary flavors.

A Christmas gift from my bosses' cellar, this was an outstanding, aged zin that is in an excellent spot right now. The softening tannins held the 15.2% abv in check. This wine easily has 3-5 more years of life left but why wait?
