Friday, September 02, 2011 - Highly opaque garnet color with a lot of rim variation and no sediment. No flaws. Medium fruit intensity and low earth intensity. Strong aroma of plums. Cherries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberry also. Aroma of roses present. Aroma of american oak. Some black pepper and iron/blood in the aroma as well. Dry sugar content. Low to medium minus acid taste. Low tannin taste. Medium alcohol taste. Medium finish, 15-30 seconds.
This bottle was decanted 30 minutes prior to serving. As the evening progressed it opened up further. Could push the rating up to 95/96 range. Very drinkable now. Smooth as silk. Beautiful Fisher VNYD wine.
