Saturday, November 2, 2013 - Stunning.
Pulled cork fifteen minutes before pouring. Aroma of aromatic melon, peach. Initial immediate impression of quite a sweet wine - then in comes the capsicum and acid that gives a real dynamic edge to this full viscous nectar now clearly just off-dry. The minerality that the whole is encased in just adds to the enjoyment and complexity of this masterpiece.
Accompanied our Barbary duck to perfection. The intensity of this wine is further enhanced by serving a couple of degrees below cellar temperature. Three years to drink my remaining 23 bottles at this level.
