2002 Tablas Creek Tannat

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Saturday, June 20, 2015 - Very rich, bright, deep aroma with berries, and a darker edge to it. Has a very deep dark violet color. The flavor opens with strong tannins that last. There's some fruit behind that, and maybe a touch of oak. The alcohol is not apparent to me in aroma or flavor, although as this opens up over a couple hours I do begin to perceive it. Becomes a little sharp in character, mostly from tannins, a little from alcohol.

Still seems somewhat young. Tasted from 64–72°F.
