Wednesday, January 7, 2015 - Dark, nearly opaque purple-black, clear rim, rich aromas of crushed blackberry and blackcurrant, smoke and leather. Palate opens with fresh flavors of crushed black fruit, blackberry turnover, cassis; layers emerge of integrated saddle leather, sweet oak and vanilla, wet black earth, framed with sweet round tannins and a huge finish. Quite the evolution over the past 2 years. Exquisite, and the hit of the table.
