#03-02, 8% abv. Quite dark in colour, which seems to be consistent with a few of the other notes here. A mature nose, with some petrol notes and cooked yellow fruit. On the palate, this lacks a lot of the cut and precision I would expect in 2001, but that might be a Mosel thing more than a Saar thing. Certainly nothing wrong here, but this does taste more mature than other 2001 (again, Mosels) that I've had recently. Disappointing.

First out of two bottles. Traces of leakage revealed after cutting the foil. High fill tough. Cork was soaked and managed just to get it out in one piece. This wine was dead - totally flat palate. Undrinkable. Source: Munich Wine Company.

A bit softer than the last bottle if memory serves - with striking flavors of soft white peach, honeyed apple and a hint of brown sugar and ginger. Also a hint of petrol on the finish.

A very delicious and interesting riesling. Lots of peach, pear and apple flavors complicated by honey, brown sugar, clove and peterolium. Rich and almost oily yet minerally, acidic and light.

Dark golden color. Alluring aromas of apple and petrol. Very good acidity to balance with the fruit. Very smooth on the palate. Very enjoyable.

browning colour, surprisingly. Bone dry, quite mature, notes of petrol, fine acidity. Ends sweet, but with citrus ... drink up.

Soft with a hint of sweetness, and enough acidity to keep it from being flabby.

Light and refreshing with just a hint of petrol and pear flavors. Not much complexity but it was a good foil to a spicy chicken tikka.
